The exciting news is that you can likely update the Digital Video Recorder device drivers in order to avoid malfunctions. Device drivers fail intermittently and inexplicably without any apparent reason. Like, i could dual boot into linux and use my dvc100 there without all the damn hassle, but that's kinda dumb because i wanna use it on windows too.DVC90 has available drivers version on Windows. I tried contacting dazzle support for a copy of instant dvd recorder, but they just blew me off and told me to buy a newer version of it.
I assume instant dvd recorder would solve my problem with dazzle studio, being that it's bloatware and i don't want it on my system, because again, i assume it'd work just as well as the studio workaround (just replacing studio with dvd recorder). The only thing left that i've heard to try is a workaround involving starting dazzle studio, which i don't want to buy or mess around with the trial of. I have confirmed that the signal coming out of what i'm using as a test (a raspberry pi) isn't just blank or anything by plugging it into a tv. from my experience, i would think this means it's trying to load something, because it disappears as soon as it loads what it needs. In VLC, the window title changes to dshow:///-somethingorother and just shows the traffic cone background without any change. (if i unplug the video cable, these numbers both change to 0.) In the OBS video settings, it says my video card detects a signal, but neither the preview or anything on the main OBS window show the signal. Same for virtualdub and amarec but in less noticable ways, amarec being constantly scanning for a signal, and virtualdub not showing an fps counter. Not like, the screen is black- as in, in VLC and OBS, it never shows any indication that it could even grab video from the capture card. The screen never shows anything on amarec, OBS, VLC, or virtualdub. I plugged in my dvc100 (black), installed the dazzle drivers, and restarted.
As a preface, i've seen other posts about this on this subreddit so i felt it might be appropriate to post about it here, if there's a better place, please tell me.
